Boom is active in general, scientific, educational and professional markets. Our publications comprise books, periodicals, CD-Roms, loose-leafs, web sites and combinations thereof. Nearly one thousand titles are currently available, including 9 periodicals.

A special category is Dutch for foreigners, comprising of a series of educational books, CD-roms and audio CDs for newcomers in The Netherlands. It aims at all language levels: from people who have only recently acquired reading and writing skills to those with a higher education who want to study at university.

Boom Publishers has been located in Amsterdam since the early seventies. It belongs to Koninklijke Boom uitgevers (Royal Boom publishers), which was founded in Meppel halfway through the nineteenth century.

Boom publishers is a member of the Dutch Publishers Union, more specifically of the General Publishers Group, the Scientific and Professional Publishers Group (double membership) and the Educational Publishers Group.
